Paddy's Journey
Born and raised on the rugged west coast of Ireland, Patrick grew up with a deep connection to the sea and the ancient wellness traditions of his homeland. His grandmother introduced him to the healing properties of seaweed baths, a practice that has been used in Ireland for centuries to ease aching joints and rejuvenate the skin.
During his travels through Finland, Patrick fell in love with the sauna culture that is so integral to Finnish life. The ritual of löyly—the steam that rises when water is thrown on hot sauna stones—reminded him of the misty mornings along the Irish coast.
Settling in Scituate, Massachusetts, Patrick found himself drawn to the South Shore's coastal communities and their appreciation for both wellness and tradition. Fáilte Löyly was born from his desire to bring these two healing cultures together in a unique mobile experience that could be enjoyed by the sea.
Our Mobile Sauna
Our custom-built mobile sauna is crafted from cedar and designed to create an authentic Finnish sauna experience that can travel anywhere. The wood-fired stove produces a gentle, enveloping heat that encourages deep relaxation.
The interior features traditional tiered benches that accommodate up to 6 people comfortably. Large windows offer views of the surrounding landscape, connecting the interior experience with the natural world outside.
Complementing the sauna, we offer cold plunge pools that can be infused with fresh seaweed harvested from the Atlantic coast, creating a full circuit of heat and cold therapy inspired by both Finnish and Irish traditions.
